Instructions

1
You’ll need to use lukewarm water and fresh yeast for this recipe.
2
Combine the yeast and honey with the lukewarm water in a bowl and mix to dissolve.
3
In another bowl, mix the flour with the salt, and unsweetened plain yogurt to make a dough. If you have a food processor with a knead function or a stand mixer with a dough hook, don't hesitate to use it. Otherwise, start to knead the dough with your hands. Gradually add the water with the dissolved yeast and knead until the dough is smooth.
4
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and rest until it doubles in volume, about 30 minutes.
5
Then divide into six equal parts and shape into balls.
6
Dust your work surface with a little flour; for this recipe it is easier to work on a cutting board than a countertop. Use a rolling pin to roll out one dough ball into a circle. Put cheese in the middle and fold the edges from all around to the center, pressing to join. Then roll out again to flatten. Repeat the process with the other five dough balls.
7
Heat a little olive oil or butter in a skillet and, one at a time, cook each naan until bubbles and puffs up. Flip and cook on the other side. Enjoy!

You can experiment with different varieties and amounts of cheese, for instance, you can put a spreadable cheese wedge in the middle of each dough ball or your favorite cheese, grated.
