Instructions

1
Wash and peel the potatoes. Put water to boil in a pot and add the sliced potatoes, salt, and some oil. Let it cook.
2
While the potatoes are cooking, add some oil to a pan and add the sliced onion. Let it cook over medium heat for 4 minutes. Add the tomato sauce and tuna and mix. Let it sit for about 2-3 minutes before removing from the heat.
3
When the potatoes are tender, remove from the pot and drain.
4
Add the milk to the pot and heat it up. Once hot add the potatoes and start to mash with a fork. Little by little the liquid will begin to disappear, and you will see the mashed potatoes come to life.
5
Now put the plate together: place a layer of the mashed potato, then a layer of the tuna and tomato sauce, followed by another layer of mashed potato. Finish it off by adding another layer of tuna and tomato sauce. Sprinkle on a bit of cheese on top. Place in the oven at 400°F to cook au gratin and in less than 5 minutes it'll be ready.

The thinner you cut the potatoes before cooking, the fast they will cook.
