Instructions

Cut the steaks into pieces of the desired size. Dredge in flour and fry in a skillet with oil. Remove from the skillet and set aside on paper towels.

Mince the garlic and grate the ginger (if using fresh).

Add a little more oil to the skillet you used to cook the meat. When hot, add the garlic, ginger, and cayenne pepper cut into pieces (if you don’t want too much heat, leave it whole so you can remove it later). Cook over medium heat for 30 seconds, stirring constantly.

Add a glass of water to the skillet, together with the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and brown sugar. Cook over hight heat for a few minutes until the sugar dissolves and the liquid is reduced a little.

Return the meat to the skillet, lower the heat, and let the meat soak up the flavor of the sauce. Cook over low heat until the sauce thickens.

Tips & Tricks

When returning the meat to the skillet, you can also add a little minced chives or cilantro to the sauce.

Serve with a good portion of rice, couscous, or quinoa.
