Instructions

1
Start by preparing the sauce. For this you should squeeze the orange, chop the garlic clove finely, and grate the ginger. Add the orange juice, finely chopped garlic clove, grated ginger, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and vinegar into a bowl. Beat everything gently and place into a pot on the stove until it begins to boil. At this moment lower the intensity of the heat and dissolve the cornstarch into the water indicated and add it to the pot for 5-7 minutes until the sauce is at the thick consistency you desire.
2
While the sauce is being made, dice the chicken and cook in a pan on medium heat until it browns. Once ready you can add it into the sauce you have prepared so that it absorbs the flavors.
3
Serve the orange chicken with a bit of rice on the side.

Tips & Tricks

If you don't have cooked rice you can cook it at the same time as the rest of the ingredients. Put a tablespoon of olive oil into a pan and heat. Then slice up a garlic clove and add. When the garlic starts to color, add the rice. Stir for a couple of minutes. Then add the water and a teaspoon of salt. Cook over high heat for 7 minutes, then reduce and simmer for 8 more minutes. If the rice has absorbed all the water in this time but is still hard, add a little more water. Let stand for a short while, covered with a lid.

You can use oyster sauce instead of soy sauce.
