Instructions

Drain the chickpeas and wash well under running water to remove the taste of the brine Put into a food chopper and chop finely. Transfer to a bowl.

Combine the peeled garlic and onion (unwashed) and bell pepper (washed) in a chopper and chop finely. Add to the bowl with the chickpeas.

Then add the cumin, turmeric, ginger, and oat flour and mix until smooth. Use your hands to shape the mixture into patties and dredge in breadcrumbs.

Put the oil into a skillet and place over medium heat. When hot, fry the patties on both sides until golden. Serve with the side dish you prefer or make into hamburgers.

Tips & Tricks

Use wheat flour if you don’t have oat flour. The flour is only used to give the mixture consistency.

Add spices to your liking.

These patties freeze well. Defrost at room temperature and then fry as normal.
