Instructions

Put the milk, 2 tablespoons of sugar, a cinnamon stick, and a large piece of lemon peel in a pot. Cook on medium heat and once it begins to boil, turn off the stove and let it stand. Once it's almost chilled, add to a bowl.

Beat the eggs in a deep bowl.

Heat up some oil in a pan.

Submerge each side of the bread in the milk bowl. Drain and then submerge in the bowl with the egg. Next, fry both sides.

Remove from the pan and place on paper towels to remove the excess oil.

Add the rest of the sugar and half teaspoon of cinnamon powder and mix. Then, dip each torrija slice into the cinnamon sugar before serving.
