7 oz
garlic
2 cloves
broccoli
14 oz
Pantry ingredients
rice
1 cup
olive oil
2 tbsp
salt
1 tsp
sriracha sauce
1 tbsp
Instructions
1
Add a tablespoon of olive oil in a pot, and once it is hot, add the sliced clove of garlic. When it begins to lightly brown, add the rice. Stir it for a couple of minutes before adding the hot water with a pinch of salt. Cook over high heat for 7 minutes and then turn down the heat to low and cook for 8 more minutes. If in this time, it absorbed all of the water and is still hard, add more water. Let it sit for a little bit.
2
Wash the broccoli and cut into smaller florets. Put water in a medium size pot with a pinch of salt on the stove. When it begins to boil add the broccoli florets and quickly cook for about 3-4 minutes. Turn off the heat and carefully remove them.
3
Add a bit of oil to a pan and lightly fry a finely chopped garlic clove for several minutes. Add the jumbo shrimp to the pan and cook for a couple minutes. Add a pinch of salt and sriracha (if you don't have any you can use another hot sauce you have at hand), mix with the shrimp and cook for one more minute.
4
Put the bowl together by placing the broccoli on half the plate and then the rice on the other half as the base. Then place the spicy shrimp on top.
Tips & Tricks
If you don't like spicy food, no problem! You can omit the step where we add the spicy sauce to the jumbo shrimp and just cook them with diced garlic, oil, and salt.
