Beat the eggs in a bowl. Add the date syrup and oil. Beat well.

Add the flour and cocoa powder. Mix everything.

Combine the dark chocolate with the plant-based milk in a pan over low heat. When the chocolate melts, add the egg and flour mixture and mix well.

Pour the batter into a container or mold suitable for microwave use. Cook for 3 minutes at 650W. If you see that the sponge cake is not ready after 3 minutes, lower the power a little and microwave at 30-second intervals until it is cooked.
Tips & Tricks
We used whole-wheat flour and 70% dark chocolate in this recipe, together with sugar-free cocoa powder.
You can add a splash of vanilla essence to the mixture.
